The Car Miracle
I was at church getting ready for midweek services when a friend seemed concerned. I asked her what was happening. She shared with me that her fiancé's truck needed a costly repair. These friends were financially strapped and couldn’t afford the repairs. My heart was filled with insane compassion and desire to help them.
I immediately went outside and started talking to the Lord. I had this other-worldly desire to give them my car. I couldn't NOT give them my car. Was I becoming my favorite talk show host? "you get a car, and you get a car, and you get a car!" Joking aside- the car I had at the time was awesome, it was a gold Infinity, with beautiful leather seats, the ones that warm your tushy in the winter, sunroof, the works. Kind of a boat, but otherwise, pretty awesome.
But, how could I give them my car since I needed a car as well? "Lord, how are we going to do this? I have to give them my car."
The scriptures I thought of says everything in the earth belonging to Him (Deut. 10:14 and Ps. 24:1). I became lit with confidence in His ability to provide, "Lord, everything on the earth belongs to you. You can move mountains to provide a different car for me so I can give mine to them." Much like God with Abraham..."I will bless you so you will be a blessing."
I continued to pray for my friends and checked in with them in the coming days and weeks. They were unable to fix their truck, no jobs opened yet for them, and no one had given them a car. They remained in need.
About a month later I was asked to go car shopping with a lovely older couple from church (they asked to remain anonymous). I went with them although I wasn't "into cars" much & didn't understand why they wanted my input. They were two mature wise adults capable of making great decisions. Why did they want my input?
After a week or so of car shopping with them I asked the Lord about it, He told me the car they were getting is for me.
"Why are they wanting to give me a car? My car is running great. I love my car." It was then the Lord reminded me of my prayer, a month prior, of giving my car to my friend and her fiancé.
I was thrilled for my friends! They had no idea God was working behind the scenes to provide for them. I looked forward to the day when I could pull up with a big-red-bow on my car and let them know it's all theirs!
I approached the lovely older couple who was wanting to buy me a car. But before I could tell them what the Lord had told me they immediately came out saying "we're getting the car for you, Liz."
The husband went on to say "We will trade in your car and put that amount towards the price of the new car". I shared with them how I told the Lord if somebody bought me a car that I would be giving my car to my friends. Without hesitation they agreed and were in full alignment with God's will for this whole situation to provide for my friends who were in need of a car.
I received my new car and was able to gift my Infinity to my friends. It was my absolute joy to join in God's heart of provision for them. The lovely older couple was thrilled also. All of us got to be a part of God's provision. We were like a synergetic organism working together for good.
Miracles are super fun and we can ask God for these things because nothing is impossible for Him and He loves moving in creative supernatural ways… I’ve experienced a lot of the supernatural, yet I think it’s also important to point out that I often observe God moving through compassion in people's hearts, working miracles through one another. I believe we are meant to live this life together helping each other, working with each other, encouraging each other, loving each other in various ways. The Body of Christ is like a living organism, working together, giving and receiving, helping those in need. He blesses us & we can be a blessing to others.
Someone once said "We are the hands and feet of God". What is God stirring in you? Has the Lord put an opportunity on your heart to help a coworker, a neighbor, a friend, or a complete stranger?
"All GOOD things come from God". If you're prompted to do something kind or helpful for someone may you have the courage and boldness to fulfill it. God is with you as you step out with compassion and courage to help. Let's join with God in making these kinds of “miracles” happen, being radical blessings to each other!
